Apples and Showings and Ghosts, Oh My

So last time I posted, I went ahead and chose a photo for that day, even though the day was just half-way over, and I said I wouldn't take anymore pictures.  But then I got my new phone in the mail, and we went outside to play, and I took more pictures with the phone.

Tackle!

Xander tried to wrestle Paxton, but Pax just wanted to cuddle.

On Friday, the twins stayed with my father-in-law all day so I could chaperone a field trip with Xander's class.  I walked him into the classroom and saw his "Star Student" display by the door.  (Each week a "Star Student" is randomly drawn, and they get to be the line leader and a few other special tasks throughout the week.  This just happened to be his week.)

Then we went to the apple orchard.  We started by hearing from the owner about how the apples are grown and harvested, then we went to the orchard and got to pick apples.  We also went on a wagon ride, ate a packed lunch in the orchard, and the kids ran around on hay bales and played in a giant sand pit.

Rylei and Izzy are Xander's friends from school and church

The field trip was fun and when it was over, we still had a few hours before the twins would get home from their grandpa's house.  So me and Xander got some frozen yogurt and ran to Walmart and just hung out together a while.  It was nice.  After dinner we went to our friends' house and got to hang out and fold some t-shirts for church (random, right?  We know how to party) while the kids all played together.  It was a full, fun day.

Saturday morning I took Xander for a haircut (that he FINALLY agreed to), then we cleaned the house, because we had a showing at 3:00 that afternoon.  During the showing, me and the kids went to my parents' house while Lucas went to his second job for the night.  We grabbed dinner, ate it, then my mother-in-law came to watch the twins and put them to bed while me and Xander went to Ghost Train at Tweetsie Railroad.  They have all the regular rides, like the Ferris Wheel and Tilt-A-Whirl, but you get to ride them at night, which is pretty cool.  Then they have extra stuff, like a haunted house (which I got unreasonably scared in - it was bizarre), spooky people walking around (even ones that don't work there), and of course, the Ghost Train.  The train ride is dark, foggy, and spooky.  And people jump out and scare you.  We like it.

Xander, Rylei, and my sister's kids, Kate and Riley

Rylei wanted me to ride the Ferris Wheel with her

Xander and his cousins waiting on the train (obviously it was very dark, so I didn't get many pictures)

So that was our weekend so far.  Tonight I get to hang out with my high school girls (from church - I co-lead their small group) and eat Mexican food.  Pretty great weekend, really.

Here's my picks for the past 2 days:

Day 129 - Xander and his pal Louie played hard at the field trip

Day 130 - On our golf cart ride, we went by my sister's house to see her Halloween decorations

I hope you are having a good weekend too.  See you next week!
